We Celebrate the Life of Our Friend and Former Executive Director E. Sean McHale
The Deutsch Institute, with fondness and warm thoughts, celebrates the life of our friend and former Executive Director E. Sean McHale. E. Sean McHale, of Harford Township, PA was called home to be with the Lord on his 58th birthday, November 18, 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Susan; his children, Erin (David) Werner and Emily (Aaron) Freeman; two cherished grandchildren, Roland and Caspian; his parents, Edward and Atsuko McHale; a brother, E. Scott (Conchita) McHale; three nephews, two nieces, and many cousins and extended family members.
Sean graduated from Tunkhannock High School in 1984, from Bloomsburg in 1989 with a Bachelor’s Degree, and in 1992 from the University of Scranton with his Masters in Human Resources. He started his career in Social Services with St. Michaels, then Friendship House, then Keystone Community Resources, next the Advocacy Alliance, and finally with Deutsch Institute as an Executive Officer. He taught Safe Crisis Management throughout his career. He was a member of the South New Milford Baptist Church, where he served as a Trustee. Sean liked to work on anything mechanical and had a knack for fixing everything. He was an avid hunter. Sean took pleasure in camping and riding his ATV with his family, who he loved dearly. He truly loved where he lived, his neighbors, and was always willing to help others.
Throughout his years of service, Sean made a positive impact on clients, coworkers, other providers, and the community.While serving as Executive Director of the Deutsch Institute, Sean helped to secure the facility at Robinson Park which is in the process of being renovated and will be utilized to not only serve the participants of the Deutsch Institute, but also the community at large. He did not only impact the lives of individuals he worked with but also the staff. Sean served as a true leader and more importantly as a mentor. His dedication, wisdom, and willingness to better the lives of everyone he encountered will be carried forward for many for years to come.
A Celebration of His Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 25, 2024 at the South New Milford Baptist Church. Please honor his life by wearing your favorite Blue Apparel.
